The Leader Behind Salt Creek Learning
I’m Dr. Amanda Duke, a districtwide education consultant and founder of Salt Creek Learning. I help districts across the country simplify and strengthen Special Education by pairing high expectations with high support. My teams have delivered three straight years of 5% student growth on state assessments and reduced SPED out-of-compliance rates by 98% in year one.
Before consulting, I served as a classroom teacher, SPED director launching a new program, and principal of a statewide virtual school (600+ students, 25 staff), where I built coaching systems, strengthened MTSS, and improved graduation outcomes. I’m known as “calm in the storm” — a behind-the-scenes operator who makes expectations explicit, uses data responsibly, and equips others to lead.
I hold an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Oklahoma and superintendent/principal certifications. My research explores how expectations and communication influence secondary transition for students with disabilities in virtual settings.
